To tackle a bundle of resources for writing a research paper is not an easy task for an experienced instructor. Even worse, it is a confusing one for a student who is asked for the first time to write a research paper after studying several courses of essay writing. Writing a research paper needs not to be a frightening task. A research paper may be longer than most of all college essays, but a student will be given more time to complete it. Having a plan for work will make the process go smoothly. Over the years, I have arrived at a time-saving, ten-step, simple strategy for this. The first five steps prepare the student to write and the remaining steps helps in writing the documented paper. This book goes through these steps giving some examples from online resources.
The Writing strand prepares students for academic written work by teaching them the language, content, and rhetoric needed for success in college courses. These texts build student confidence by presenting step-by-step, easy-to-learn processes for effective writing. It features a student Website and an instructor Website.
On the surface, it would appear that a classroom offers a universal experience. In reality, however, the individuality of human beings shapes this experience within a singular perspective that personalizes it into a unique story. This dissertation research project undertook to explore the concept of teacher knowledge as it applied to a particular community college instructor and how that knowledge was communicated to a particular developmental writing class. The collected data is reported through the narrative lens, offering a powerful collaboration of teacher and student stories intertwined through a shared educational experience. Upon entering their classroom, readers will “hear” the voices of the instructor and students, frequently offered in their original state—unvarnished, raw with emotion, and sincere.
