The volume of documents in Internet are increasing every day . Again, each internet user has different search requirements. There are different approaches for creating user profiles by gathering user information through proxy servers or desktop robots . But both techniques require active participation of the user to install and configure these applications. In this work, we investigated the use of a less-expensive means of gathering user information for personalized or user specific search. Our study explored the effectiveness of personalized search based upon user profiles constructed from user search records. Individual user information such as queries submitted ,results returned and web pages selected from retrieved results were collected to create user profiles. These profiles were then used to re-rank the search results and the rank-order of the user-examined results before and after re-ranking were compared. Our study found that user profiles based on queries were as effective as those based on title and short descriptions. We also found that our personalized re-ranking resulted in an observable improvement in the rank-order of the user-selected results.
Web Recommendation system attempts to predict the user next browsing activity then recommend the web pages items that are likely to be of interest to the user. The ability of predicting the next visited pages and recommending it to the short term navigation user (anonymous user) is highly needed. This research focuses on improving the prediction of the next visited web pages and introduces them to current anonymous user. An enhanced classification algorithm is used to assign the current anonymous user to the best web navigation profile. As the users’ interests change over time, the recommender system has the ability to modify the current web navigation profiles and keep them updated. These adaptive profiles help the prediction engine to predict and then recommend the next visited pages to the current user in an accurate manner.
Ever since global markets developed from sellers to buyers markets companies have tried to integrate customers' knowledge into their innovations. User Innovation represents a new approach in which customers are actively integrated into the product innovation process. This quantitative study shows customers' attitudes towards User Innovation on three different levels - cognitive (What do customers know about User Innovation?), affective (What are customers' emotions and feelings towards User Innovation?) and behavioural (How likely are customers to participate within a User Innovation activity in the future?). Additionally, data from customers who have already participated in a User Innovation activity was compared to data from customers who have not participated yet. The results offer valuable clues on how to work with each customer segment effectively. 280 people filled out the online questionnaire and 220 of them fitted the target group.
The World Wide Web currently contains billions of documents; this causes difficulty in finding the desired information by users. Many search engines come out to help users finding their desired information but search engines still return hundreds of irrelevant web pages that do not fulfill the user''s query. Several search engines use clustering to group documents that are relevant to the user''s query before returning them to the user, but there is no document clustering algorithm that has an accuracy that can prevent retrieving irrelevant documents. In this research, the researchers have introduced a new technique to enhance cluster quality by using user browsing time as an implicit measure of user feedback, rather than using explicit user feedback as in previous research and techniques. The major contributions of this work are: investigating user browsing time as an implicit measure of user feedback and proving its efficiency, enhancing cluster quality by using a new clustering technique that is based on user browsing time, and developing a system that tests the validity of the proposed technique.

The system (Virtual Sight) includes both hardware and software components that is applications and integrated gadgets. The wearable hardware part consists of a head-mounted device which contains integrated ear piece for audio receiving, a small camera attached for video input, a microphone which inputs the human voices and a low powered PC which inputs the audio and video from the camera and microphone for streaming it to the next desired user. On the other side of the hardware part a handheld device is used for transferring the audio/video from one user to another and so on. As well as a server is created which monitors the communication between the users. On the software side the components include an optimized user-interface application at the client’s end which allows the user to view and hear other user, a communication framework for server and user by which data is pipelined from user to user and an audio/video streaming and monitoring application for handling the whole communication thing.

The objective of this thesis is to acquire knowledge of different behaviours of people from different cultures, which could have an impact on the usage of software user interfaces. Furthermore, the paper explains in more detail what is meant with software user interfaces and gives inputs on how to create a user-friendly system. In addition, the thesis illustrates the topic usability and what is necessary to guarantee it. The acquired knowledge is combined in a practical example, which fulfils the cultural requirements and the guidelines of usability. The thesis discusses the following questions: When is a software user interface qualified as user-friendly? Is it necessary to consider cultural aspects when developing software user interfaces for different countries? What aspects need to be considered when designing an intercultural software user interface?

There is a significant interest in the areas of data mining about the need to improve existing techniques for extracting exact data from deep web, disconnecting the services, to prevent and reduce the response time to user. In this project, a new framework as interface between user request and database in deep web is designed. User request is sent by a web form to search for information such as books, cars and so on. Many websites such as Amazon, has such forms. Requests sent by users to deep web data bases, in this way request reach to framework. Then framework sends the data request to databases according to user requests. Then, framework gets one dataset that may include records that match with user request. After three level process, framework extracts the exact records according to user request and send to the user interface. The project focuses on challenges of data recovery from web databases. Experimental results in this project are two types. First experimental results extract a standard and exact data from databases in depth of web. Second experimental results are estimating the number of process level of discovery algorithm in eight domain of the QI whole the Web
