How tasks affect users' information-seeking and search behavior has drawn much attention in information science. This research examines the relationships among work tasks, search tasks, and interactive information search behavior. Two sequential studies taking a faceted classification of tasks as a research framework were conducted to examine the relationships. The results indicate that work tasks are significantly associated with search tasks and shape search tasks to a great extent. Work tasks also significantly affect users' interactive information search behavior. This research demonstrates that a faceted approach to conceptualizing tasks is feasible and effective. The research has implications in task-based information seeking and retrieval and personalization of information retrieval. It could be a useful book for graduate students in information science and anyone else who is interested in this area, especially in task and interactive information retrieval.
This publication contains six articles on qualitative research, primarily in the areas of social science, business and management, and human resource development (HRD). In recent times, it would appear that qualitative research has gradually started to become more popular than quantitative research in these areas of research. Having said this, however, the papers are not entirely restricted to qualitative research. The second paper, for example, refers to ‘mixed methods’ research, which incorporates both qualitative and quantitative research, while the final paper concerns research on ‘social capital’. The editors and authors of the papers are all academics or doctoral candidates/intending academics. This volume should be of particular interest to theses examiners, doctoral supervisors, and students, particularly those interested in qualitative research in these areas.

In the search algorithm, we determine the starting point as that root of a tree branch, including multiple paths in the direction of the target, we choose from these pathways one of the points to be the new starting point a new phase, and thus point to a new tree root, and so on until we reach the goal. The blind is not Known or the search each time the generation of new phases and then tested these stages, including what it achieves the goal? If so, the search ends, otherwise to be repeated Find generate new stage and so on. Find full-duplex operation is based on two research papers at one time, one stats from the starting point and the second starts from the last point and head towards the starting point and join the papers were in the mid-point. Empirical research or information is based on the information on the following stages and which may not lead to a goal. And Q-learning is one type of the search types , we chose it in our subject because it contains the basic properties that is : The speed , the accuracy and the easy arrival to the desired aim by the shortest time and minimum possible distance.

Recent studies of queries submitted to Internet Search Engines have shown that non-English queries and unclassifiable queries have nearly tripled during the last decade. Most search engines were originally engineered for English. Although in recent years search engines have improved their handling of non-English queries, studies show that many problems still exist and are worthy of further research. The primary aim of this research study is to present an evaluation methodology for identifying the shortcomings and measuring the effectiveness of search engines with non-English queries. The focus of the research is on the Greek language but the findings and methods could be applied in other non-English and non-Latin languages.

This book is a teacher in itself, intended to guide students of tertiary institutions including researchers on one easy way to write papers for submission to a journal. The language used is kept as simple as possible for easy understanding. The book gave a general background to writing scientific research papers, what to consider before starting to write a scientific paper, how to attract other readers to your work and it enables the reader to know the qualities the editors and referees will be looking for in a paper as part of its consideration for publication. It takes each of the main parts of a research paper and looks at what usually goes into them with practical examples. Writing research papers is too wide a field to be able to cover every aspect in one small book. Other books deal in greater detail with other areas of scientific writing especially its technical details. It is not meant to be complete but as a basic introduction. I hope that the book will assist many scientists as they undertake the difficult task of writing their papers for submission to International Scientific Journals. I am delighted to publish this book and make it available to the developing world.
This study examines the adoption of Csikszentmihalyi’s concept of flow in an online information search model based on a cost-benefit framework. The adoption of the hedonic perspective shows a significant expansion of the consumer information search model, and can thus be considered to provide a supplementary perspective about information search research that has been neglected to date. Existing consumer information search research has a tendency to focus on the cost-benefit framework, dealing mainly with practical products such as cars and computers. However, especially in online environments, consumers also pursuing hedonic value bring the possibility of continuing with information searching even if the cost is higher than its benefits. This study focuses on this composite perspective adopting the concept of flow as a variable in mediator and moderator roles.
Although there is no unanimity of opinion among writers on what constitutes research, there is a general agreement that research is any organized and carefully planned substantial effort or systematic inquiry designed to further knowledge and understanding of a subject. It may also be defined as a scientific investigation aimed at discovering and applying new facts, and techniques. Research is the systematic process of collecting and analyzing information to increase our understanding of the phenomenon under study. It can be carried out in the laboratory, greenhouse, and pot culture or in the field. The term research came into English from the old French root word cerchier, meaning to search or seek, and the prefix re, meaning again. Therefore, research is seeking again, or an intensive search with a view to becoming certain

This collection of papers marks the development of empirical application of the search approach to labor economics - an approach which arose as a theoretical development of the 1960s and led to numerous insights in the 1970s. The search approach naturally incorporates uncertainty in the economic model, making up some of the early work in what is now called "the economics of information." Included are econometric issues such as estimation and specification of search models for wages and unemployment duration, continuous time models of turnover, and identification of structural parameters. Applications to policy questions including Unemployment Insurance and wage subsidy programs are given, and data collection issues are discussed within the search framework. Формат: 15 см x 22,5 cм.
This book contains eight research papers in open channel hydraulics. The characteristics of roughness materials and the properties of intermediate scale roughness and large scale roughness are emphasized. We observe that roughness materials are advantageous from the point of view of more mean depth of flow which will be used for irrigation and water distribution purpose. Also, the high velocity of flow is reduced to get the permissible value of velocity and the erosion is prevented. The relationship between different roughness parameters have been discussed.

Presents a probabilistic and information-theoretic framework for a search for static or moving targets in discrete time and space. Probabilistic Search for Tracking Targets uses an information-theoretic scheme to present a unified approach for known search methods to allow the development of new algorithms of search. The book addresses search methods under different constraints and assumptions, such as search uncertainty under incomplete information, probabilistic search scheme, observation errors, group testing, search games, distribution of search efforts, single and multiple targets and search agents, as well as online or offline search schemes. The proposed approach is associated with path planning techniques, optimal search algorithms, Markov decision models, decision trees, stochastic local search, artificial intelligence and heuristic information-seeking methods. Furthermore, this book presents novel methods of search for static and moving targets along with practical algorithms of partitioning and search and screening. Probabilistic Search for Tracking Targets includes complete material for undergraduate and graduate courses in modern applications of probabilistic search, decision-making and group testing, and provides several directions for further research in the search theory. The authors: Provide a generalized information-theoretic approach to the problem of real-time search for both static and moving targets over a discrete space. Present a theoretical framework, which covers known information-theoretic algorithms of search, and forms a basis for development and analysis of different algorithms of search over probabilistic space. Use numerous examples of group testing, search and path planning algorithms to illustrate direct implementation in the form of running routines. Consider a relation of the suggested approach with known search theories and methods such as search and screening theory, search games, Markov decision process models of search, data mining methods, coding theory and decision trees. Discuss relevant search applications, such as quality-control search for nonconforming units in a batch or a military search for a hidden target. Provide an accompanying website featuring the algorithms discussed throughout the book, along with practical implementations procedures.
