The main purpose of this quasi-experimental research was to investigate integrating dynamic assessment with process approach to promote GRE argument essay writing. The results indicated that the participants, instructed through the process-oriented approach to second language (L2) writing were more successful in GRE argument writing than those instructed through product-oriented approach. When compared with process group, Process Approach integrated with Dynamic Assessment group performed significantly better on the posttest GRE argument writing. The major implication for this study is that process approach instruction that was integrated with Dynamic assessment could enhance Iranian EFL learners’ argument writing abilities and skills beyond the contributions, made by a process-oriented approach. In fact, this approach helps GRE candidates compose more comprehensible and coherent argument essays and equip GRE teachers with more practical and effective methods of teaching GRE writing.

Essay Assessment is considered to play a central role in educational process as essays are the most useful tool to assess learning outcomes. Consequently, essays have been incorporated into many of the standard testing programs like SAT (Systematic Aptitude Test), GRE (Graduate Record Examination), TOFEL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and GMAT (General Management Aptitude Test). Though the importance of essay assessment is elevated, the process of assessment using human evaluators is more of extremely labor intensive, time consuming and subjectivity. Hence, automatic essay scoring systems are developed to overcome all these problems in manual essay assessment. Currently, a number of automatic essay scoring systems using different techniques are available commercially or as a result of research in the field. However, most automatic essay scoring systems address English language. Therefore, this study is an attempt to develop similar systems for Amharic language which is the official language of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

The goal of the first essay is afford Brazilian students and researchers easier access to a discussion that is somewhat disperse in our country, and also to encourage further research on the subject. We begin the second essay by presenting the main benefits of the mathematicization of economics, as argued by some of the advocates of the progress of the mathematical formalization of economic discourse. After that, we point out the more traditional criticisms to this mathematicization process. The cinematic essay, also known as the essay film, is an extension of the documentary genre which replaces the impossible task of objectivity with a more subjective, argumentative approach. Until the recent growth in digital technology, which has decreased the financial burden associated with the cost of film stock and other aspects of production, essayistic cinema was mostly created by professional filmmakers, who approach thesis-driven arguments through a visual medium to achieve what documentary pioneer John Grierson described as “the creative treatment of actuality” (Winston, 19). Yet in recent years the development of digital cameras and editing equipment has made it possible for amateur filmmakers, including those involved in academia, to craft essay films with the same efficiency and quality of their professional predecessors.
