Research is often conducted using the hourglass model structure of research. The hourglass model starts with a broad spectrum for research, focusing in on the required information through the method of the project (like the neck of the hourglass), then expands the research in the form of discussion and results. The major steps in conducting research are: 1.Identification of research problem 2.Literature review 3.Specifying the purpose of research 4.Determine specific research questions or 5.hypotheses 6.Data collection 7.Analyzing and interpreting the data 8.Reporting and evaluating research
This publication contains six articles on qualitative research, primarily in the areas of social science, business and management, and human resource development (HRD). In recent times, it would appear that qualitative research has gradually started to become more popular than quantitative research in these areas of research. Having said this, however, the papers are not entirely restricted to qualitative research. The second paper, for example, refers to ‘mixed methods’ research, which incorporates both qualitative and quantitative research, while the final paper concerns research on ‘social capital’. The editors and authors of the papers are all academics or doctoral candidates/intending academics. This volume should be of particular interest to theses examiners, doctoral supervisors, and students, particularly those interested in qualitative research in these areas.

This book is a teacher in itself, intended to guide students of tertiary institutions including researchers on one easy way to write papers for submission to a journal. The language used is kept as simple as possible for easy understanding. The book gave a general background to writing scientific research papers, what to consider before starting to write a scientific paper, how to attract other readers to your work and it enables the reader to know the qualities the editors and referees will be looking for in a paper as part of its consideration for publication. It takes each of the main parts of a research paper and looks at what usually goes into them with practical examples. Writing research papers is too wide a field to be able to cover every aspect in one small book. Other books deal in greater detail with other areas of scientific writing especially its technical details. It is not meant to be complete but as a basic introduction. I hope that the book will assist many scientists as they undertake the difficult task of writing their papers for submission to International Scientific Journals. I am delighted to publish this book and make it available to the developing world.
There is largely a dearth of objective information on the key issues underlying the effectiveness of facilities space planning and management of office buildings. Little effort has been invested in systematic development of comprehensive coherent criteria, to advance superior knowledge and direct decisions in practice and policy. A discovery of this shortcoming among other gaps, motivated the first author to research further into some influential factors in facilities space planning and management of office buildings, with emphasis on open-plan settings. As the dominant trend in the changing layout of offices is towards a more open-plan space (Knight Frank Hooker, 1995), investigation of open-plan measures in the determination of facilities space management, was considered crucial. The findings of the research have been published in various international journals some of which have been assembled here. The contributions of this research to knowledge and practice have been recognized by the industry, through its winning of the 1998, 1999, and 2000 Excellence Awards for Facility Management Research, awarded by the Facility Management Association of Australia.
Present era has seen emergence of new subjects and their development at a very fast pace. An interdependency of these subjects, their scope and impact is however expanding very fast. It is becoming increasingly difficult to measure the different aspects of research output, especially in case of application oriented, interdisciplinary subjects.Indicators based on research papers published in the international scientific journal literature are particularly useful for providing internationally comparable data on an academic institution’s scientific performance. These so called ‘bibliometric’ indicators can be used to establish an institution’s share in the volume of international research papers within a particular scientific discipline, its International scientific ‘impact’ in terms of references in the worldwide scientific literature to these papers, or the national and international scientific collaboration in terms of co-authored research publications. The aim of this study is to analyse quantitatively the literature contributed by the faculty at Jamia Millia Islamia.
This study is reporting on a search of scholarly literature for the period 1996 to 2010. The research identified sixty-two research papers using the business model frameworks. These papers were analyzed according to the research fields in which the studies were published, the industries involved, and the focus of the studies. The contribution of this paper is to identify and organize business model studies in such a way that these studies prove relevant to other management research.
This monograph examines the n-dimensional regular polytopes from various aspects through a series of papers, model pictures and data. These papers don't seem to have direct relations among them, but they, in fact, separately explored various aspects of the n-dimensional regular polytopes, such as structure, internal relationship, included angles and size scales, etc.. The mathematical knowledges involved includes group theory, combinatorial mathematics, disperse geometry, partial differential geometry and topology etc. They form the unique characteristics of this monograph: each paper has its own independent character, and all of the papers are inter-connected and related to the n-dimensional regular polytopes. What is more important is that the monograph contains many rarely known formulae, relative expressions and data. The main purpose of writing this monograph is that by digesting the research presented, people can understand that the reasoning ability of mankind can absolutely reach the n-dimensional space and calculate accurately the numerical values concerning the n-dimensional regular polytopes.

Materials based on pi-Conjugated molecules have attracted a considerable attention as a novel class of semi-conductors and are frequently studied because of their interesting optical and electronic properties which make them a good candidate for Opto-electronic applications. Because the importance of this type of materials in science and technology, a considerable effort has been made in their physico-chemical properties and modeling analysis and intensive research works stimulated by the above mentioned discoveries not only gave rise to a Nobel Prize (2000) in chemistry, but also to the several papers, devoted to the synthesis, characterization, theoretical studies and processing of these new generations of organic semi-conductors. It is difficult to prepare a review covering in details various aspects of these materials (design, synthesis, characterization and properties)We will, therefore, concentrate our discussion in this work on the different interesting papers published by our research group in several international journals.
