The political dispute of power after the death of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jabber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on 15 of January 2006, followed by the public demand to change the electoral constituencies voting system of the National Assembly, and the dissolving of the National Assembly in May 2006 forced many Kuwaitis to go online to get the latest news and analysis regarding the two issues. Kuwaiti online journalism became the source for instant updated information during the disputes. Three different tools (survey, online content analysis & interviews) were used to determine the effect of online journalism on journalist''s practices and the freedom of the press in Kuwait, focusing on the most popular Kuwaiti personal writers'' sites, weblogs & forums. The results show that online journalism affected journalist''s practices but did not replace the traditional practices. The language of online journalism took a different direction from the local press with more freedom to write, discuss, and share ideas online with less fear of government retribution. What was considered a taboo “red line” in the local press became an acceptable “green line” online.

This work seeks to contribute to the growing literature on academic discourses by probing into a relatively new reading-to-write examination genre featured in the Singapore Cambridge Advanced level General Paper. The recently introduced Application Question on the GP comprehension question paper, aimed at producing more critical thinkers, makes an array of new linguistic and rhetorical demands on students taking the General Paper. Appraising Arguments unveils the many hidden expectations in the AQ response genre, as viewed through the lens of Systemic Functional Linguistics, APPRAISAL and genre theory. It is hoped that Appraising Arguments will grant junior college students and GP teachers alike fresh insights into the Application Question and its manifold requirements.
In 2007 the European Commission adopted the Green paper on the Review of the Consumer Acquis, which launched a public consultation on possible improvements. The summary of responses demonstrated that there is a need to tighten-up and systemize the regulation of the right of withdrawal. Moreover, due to the potential of increased numbers of cross-border transactions that the common access to the Internet leads to, the importance of effective rights of withdrawal from online contracts was underlined. The process of the revision of consumer acquis resulted in three proposals on Consumer rights directive: from the European Commission, the European Council and the European Parliament. There were substantial differences among these three legislative initiatives as regards the level of harmonization and the scope of application of the future directive. In order a thorough research on the possible regulation was made, this work analyzes all three versions of proposals. Furthermore, in order practical implication on the possible legislative changes were provided, the work gives evaluation on the legislative tendencies from the perspective of German consumers contracting online.
To tackle a bundle of resources for writing a research paper is not an easy task for an experienced instructor. Even worse, it is a confusing one for a student who is asked for the first time to write a research paper after studying several courses of essay writing. Writing a research paper needs not to be a frightening task. A research paper may be longer than most of all college essays, but a student will be given more time to complete it. Having a plan for work will make the process go smoothly. Over the years, I have arrived at a time-saving, ten-step, simple strategy for this. The first five steps prepare the student to write and the remaining steps helps in writing the documented paper. This book goes through these steps giving some examples from online resources.

AMBA AXI-04 is an IP protocol which supports 16, masters and slaves interfacing. AMBA AXI-04 system consists of master, slave and interconnect. The system consists of five channels namely write address channel, write data channel, read address channel, read data channel, and write response channel. The AXI-04 update to AXI-03 includes the following: support for burst lengths up to 256 beats, updated write response requirements, removal of locked transactions and AXI-04 also includes information on the interoperability of components. The work aims to design master, slave and interconnect modules according to AMBA AXI-04 protocol, modelled in Verilog HDL. The simulation results for read and write operation of address and data are shown in VCS tool. The master and slave components have an interface with the test layer which provides necessary stimulus. This test layer is built exclusively to initiate the transaction and provide the meaningful inputs to master and slave. The operating frequency is set to 100MHz. Two test cases are run to perform multiple read and multiple write operations. To perform single read operation the module takes 160ns and for single write operation 565ns.
