In her first nonfiction book, award-winning novelist Yiyun Li explores the questions we ask ourselves as readers and writers, as citizens and solitary travelers, as parents and children: How does one make life livable? How do writing and reading bring us solace, and help us embrace the conflicts of our daily reality? Tracing the course of her life from China to America, and from biologist to writer, Li reflects with startling generosity and humanity on the writers who have shaped her--William Trevor, Katherine Mansfield, Marianne Moore, Ivan Turgenev, Stefan Zweig, and more.
Startlingly original and shining with quiet wisdom, this is a memoir of a life lived with books. Written over two years while the author battled suicidal depression, Dear Friend is a painful and yet richly affirming examination of what makes life worth living.Li grew up in China, her mother suffering from mental illness, and has spent her adult life as an immigrant in a country not her own. She has been a scientist, an author, an immigrant, a mother - and through it all, she has been sustained by a deep connection with the writers and books she loves. From William Trevor and Katherine Mansfield to Kierkegaard and Larkin, Dear Friend is a journey through the deepest themes that bind these writers together.Interweaving personal experiences with a wide-ranging homage to her most cherished literary influences, Yiyun Li confronts the two most essential questions of her identity: Why write? And why live? Dear Friend is a beautiful, interior exploration of selfhood and a journey of recovery through literature.
I opened my eyes and I felt if someone held my hand though there was nobody around me. I got into the car and kept thinking, what I felt during meditation. I logged in to my system and started scraping my thoughts. One thought to another, when I realised that why am I dilapidating my experiences of life that could guide someone, somewhere around the globe. I present my thoughts as ‘14 Pearls of Inspiration’. If my 14 chapters can change someone’s life for only 14 minutes, while one is sitting in a metro or at a coffee shop, the purpose of my book is accomplished. This book is to illustrate an example that disability at any age can make you understand your abilities.

Someone asked me why I thought writing a book on careers’ would give me any relief and satisfaction? Was it an urge or satisfaction of the teens? Was I writing to make my pockets any deeper? Was I trying to fulfill an urge to become a top writer? Or was it just possible to write for the fun of it, maybe it just felt right to write. Have you ever asked yourself why you settled for that particular career? It could have been because of the growing demand for it and the opportunities available or the love for it or someone somewhere tied you to a profession he could easily help you access. The reasons being inconclusive in nature, I will try to make you understand why it is important to consider various habits and factors in your subsequent life or future career before settling in and making it fruitful, plus pros and cons you may end up facing towards success of that particular career you may choose to specialize in. "Remember society defines successful careers but we decide our careers worth". E.S.O Do enjoy
If you've asked someone the secret to writing efficient, well-written software, the answer that you've probably gotten is "learn assembly language programming." By learning assembly language programming, you learn how the machine really operates and thatknowledge will help you write better high-level language code. A dirty little secret assembly language programmers rarely admit to, however, is that what you really need to learn is machine organization, not assembly language programming. Write Great Code, the first in a series from assembly language expert Randall Hyde, dives right into machine organization without the extra overhead of learning assembly language programming at the same time. And since Write Great Code concentrates on the machine organization, not assembly language, the reader will learn in greater depth those subjects that are language-independent and of concern to a high level language programmer. Write Great Code will help programmers make wiser choices with respect to programming statements and data types when writing software, no matter which language they use.
The focus of my project is on my mother, Selamije Ahmeti. I have used her life experiences to further understand creative women and to help me understand where my creativity stemmed from. I have accomplished this through several methods such as a questionnaire I made up where I asked her to write down her answers, casual conversations I later transcribed, deliberate conversations I later transcribed and my personal observation. This project also involves the process of self-discovery. I believe there is nothing greater than knowing who you are and what you have to offer to the world. I have found that knowing where you come from plays a big role in the development of creative personalities. My goal is to share with women around the world from my experience that every aspect of creativity is important and should be celebrated. Often, we focus on creative achievement through the means of awards and what we think of as “unreachable creativity.” However, everyone has creative potential and when we use it, we have a great impact, in so many diverse ways that need to be appreciated.

The performance of paper machines at paper mills degrades from time to time. Therefore, the company in charge of designing control systems for paper machines needs to utilize control engineers to figure out the source of the problem. If they notice that the model used in controller design is no longer a valid model to represent the behaviour of the process, they will need to re-identify the process and re-tune the controllers to compensate for the degraded performance. So, I was asked to automate the whole procedure, from performance assessment to closed-loop identification and controller re-tuning. I have tried to conduct my research in the best possible way and make substantial and useful contribution to the work. Moreover, it was a great experience for me to collaborate closely with people in industry and be familiar with industrial environment during my Master's. In this book, I try to share some parts of the things I learnt from them.
When two friends, a sock monkey and a stuffed dog toy, get into an argument during playtime, Monkey gets his feelings hurt and proclaims, "You are not my friend!" But when he takes his ball to find someone new to play with, he quickly learns that maybe he hasn't been a very good friend either. Soon, the two friends make up. Bestselling author/illustrator Dan Kirk uses bold and funny illustrations to convey the important message that acts of sharing and friendship are two-way streets.
Relationship marketing is very necessary in marketing today. Banks need to communicate with their customers in a well mannered way and also put their customers’ wants into consideration. This dissertation presents my interest on the topic relationship marketing and how it helps customer’s satisfaction and also leads or makes customers want to stay with their banks. Marketing is a very important aspect when running a business, business need to think in a broader aspect and stop being or sticking with the old idea of marketing. Marketing has developed and evolved. Several people supported and where instrumental in the successful completion of this dissertation and indeed the glory also goes to them. First and foremost I thank the almighty GOD for seeing me through the year of my study and helping me with my research and also being their when I need Him the most. I thank Him for giving me the grace to begin and to end this course successfully. Blessed be the Lord for He has heard the voice of my supplication. The Lord is my strength and my shield: I thank You Lord for making all things possible. My sincere appreciation goes to my able supervisor, Miss Andrea Beetles
Using nine reflections as a centerpiece, this paper aims to inform readers about the power that an international travel experience and/or practica in dual-language environments can have in becoming a more effective teacher, a culturally responsive teacher. Students with diverse backgrounds (that are different from their teacher) may have extra difficulty communicating or expressing their thoughts and ideas. Teachers need to recognize these difficulties and respond appropriately and in a constructivist manner to encourage and promote student learning. If students’ needs are rejected, teachers could generate student resistance towards learning and lose the valuable opportunity to hear diverse perspectives on a variety of issues.Throughout this paper, I will compare and share reflections I gathered from observations of mainstream and sheltered learning environments for ELLs (English language learners). These shared reflections will serve as an example of what it means to be a culturally responsive teacher. I will also explore how teacher education programs could ensure pre-service teachers are exposed to the pedagogies and practices needed to become CRTs.
