This study is designed to develop an understanding of what influences the degree of success of public relations professionals in international assignments. It explores the degree of success in international assignments of public relations professionals in South Africa and the United States and determines the influence of any correlations to organizational and national culture.
Feedback is an important aspect of meaningful learning in health professions education. Lecturers often complain of too much workload as a hindrance to providing feedback. In this book, the reader is introduced to a sustainable way of providing feedback regarding student assignments which is feasible in today`s demanding academic environments. The book is of particular significance to educators in resource-limited settings where the number of students in most cases out-weighs the available educators. The business world of today looks considerably different than twenty years ago; companies used to compete domestically, but the number of organizations that continues to do so becomes very scarce. Globalization forces organizations to expand their boundaries and look for new markets. Because of this relatively new phenomenon, more and more companies are sending their employees on international assignments. Traditionally, these expatriates have been men. Despite the need and rise of deployment of expatriates, the number of women in such positions remains low (2-15%). However, if companies want to keep on sending their best and most qualified staff, they cannot rely primarily on men anymore. The increasing demand for expatriates can be met by deploying more women. However, statistical figures show that this is not so easy in practice. This thesis clarifies possible explanations for the scarcity of females on international assignments and researches the ambition of both males and females to pursue an international career. Therefore, this research would be of particular interest for both individuals with international ambitions as well as companies that are sending individuals abroad.

Writing as a communicative activity imposes great difficulties on EFL learners and both cognitive and affective aspects of writing have a sharing part in this complex process. Apprehension and blocking as two prominent factors, due to their adverse effect on learning language are more challenging for EFL learners as they write in a new language system. The present book tries to provide insights on the importance of these two phenomena specifically in the EFL context. This book allude to the role of strategy instruction, the saliency of explicit writing strategy use, prewriting strategies in particular, in relieving many problems that may arise from overlooking affective and cognitive aspects of writing. It further emphasized that the implementation of explicit writing instruction as a solution can make a world of difference for students in the process of learning. Finally, this book contributes to look at EFL writing in a new perspective, to rethink of other factors which may play hidden roles in the writing tasks and to change the view of writing from unlearnable gift to the process of discovery.
A shortened assignment, as an accommodation, can help learning disabled students learn and demonstrate their knowledge. The purpose of this qualitative case study using grounded theory analysis was to explore the administration and implementation of shortened assignments for four learning disabled students and to describe the perceptions of co-teachers and parents of how shortened assignments benefit or hinder learning for these students within a co-teaching context at an urban middle school. Shortened assignments, when applied consistently and appropriately by general and special education teachers, can help learning disabled students in a variety of ways.
This project is aimed at downloading and uploading online assignments for students; with each assignment having information about the instructions, description, deadline, and submission details. The main goal of this thesis is to design and implement online assignment submission and provide an interface use for uploading test program (Nant script file) by instructors, who would be able to evaluate assignments automatically. The system provides an interface for testing assignments such that they can be plugged in by the teachers. This testing could invoke a compiler and make a test-run of the compiled code and check the result or test for plagiarism, existence of certain documents or simply check the file type (extension). The most obvious advantage offered by online assignment submission is that it offers faster transmission of assignments than using traditional way by using online system. The interface use to invoke different testing program by teachers, So Save the time and cost for teachers by enabling them to put up a fast response for students as well as increasing the quality of the feedback provided to students.
Globally it is known that international managers are a valuable resource to all organisations. However, it is relatively unknown what challenges these managers face in reality and how to manage such challenges in order to retain their skills, knowledge and expertise within MNEs.This study attempted to understand the challenges facing new international managers in order to determine whether a gap exists between what new international managers on assignment are actually facing and what experienced managers perceive they are facing.An exploratory research approach using a qualitative methodology was followed using a sample comprising of six new international managers and 24 experienced international managers. Findings suggest that a gap exists between the challenges new international managers are facing in reality, and the assumptions and perceptions of experienced international managers. It is recommended that the MNE review current human resources recruitment and management policies, implement hiring policies based on skills and competencies beyond technical ability, and establish cross-cultural programmes to address the challenges facing new international managers.
