A little boy is wondering why he is bullied by his classmate Peregrine Ffrogg. He asks himself various questions: 'Is it because he misses his mum? Is it because he still sucks his thumb? Is it because he smells like a pike? Is it because he can't ride a bike?' And the questions he asks leads him to a greater understanding of himself and the bully. He comes to the conclusion that Peregrine Ffrogg is unhappy, and jealous of him.

Brain-Computer Music Interfaces (BCMIs) aim to allow users to control music using their brain activity information. In this thesis the design and implementation of a BCMI for controlling the expressive content of musical pieces using emotions is presented. Human emotions can be characterized as a combination of arousal and valence values. However, the variability of these values across different subjects complicates the use of emotions for controlling music expression. Two experiments are presented to study the best approach for calculating arousal and valence value boundaries. The obtained results indicate that using images with emotional content in the process of calibrating the BCMI is less reliable than instructing the subjects to consciously modulate their excitation/relaxation state. Another conclusion is that the computed valence value is less reliable than the arousal value for controlling the BCMI. The impact of using both music and visual feedback in the BCMI is investigated and the main conclusion is that most of the users participating in the experiment are able to control better the BCMI when receiving only musical feedback compared to both music and visual feedback.
In this book it is discussed about EU budget, initially by analyzing its history, its structure and the way how it is managed. Through a research by using econometric models is seen what variables affect member states' contributions to the EU budget in the past and also it is made a comparative analysis between the model during the peak of the crisis (2008) and the model after the crisis (2011). So according to this model the two main factors that affect mostly the budget contributions are the states GDP/capita and the government expenditures per capita. The hypothesis that was raised in this research was that the two aforementioned factors have a considerable impact in the contributions of the member states. The conclusion that was drawn was that both factors affect the budget contributions, but the GDP has a greater impact. In fact this was an expected conclusion given that the major part of the European Union budget is financed exactly by the GNI (gross national income) of the member countries. An important part of this study is the analysis of the financial framework of 2014-2020 and the proposal of some solutions for the budget crisis.
This is a study on whether the Australian regime of income tax on capital gains causes widespread violation of horizontal equity. The study concludes that such violation does occur, and that there is reason to expect such violation to be widespread. That conclusion is reached through an analysis of case studies, and through a review of the processes employed to enact and administer the laws imposing income tax on capital gains. The study recognises that horizontal equity is just one among many policy objectives that a tax measure such as the income tax on capital gains must satisfy, and therefore concedes that there may be situations where a violation of horizontal equity may inevitably occur due to the need to satisfy another policy objective that is inconsistent with horizontal equity. At the conclusion of the study, recommendations are formulated to ensure the occurrence of such violations of horizontal equity is reduced. Those recommendations include a legislatively-mandated consequentialist approach to statutory interpretation.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reporting is similar in traditional financial accounting in the sense that it gives an account of the doings of a company over a given period of time, traditionally a year. This report is usually available to the general public, however, it differs from traditional financial accounting in that even a publicly listed company is not obligated to produce such a report. Currently, CSR reporting is still based on voluntary service. This research has been conducted due to the rising importance – or trend – of Corporate Social Reporting in order to assess how to properly report a company's doings in order to produce the maximum value for both the company and its stakeholders. As a result of the research, the thesis comes to the conclusion that there is not a single way to properly report CSR, but rather a multitude of different ways in which companies can properly report such, and, thus, both create value for their stakeholders, and the company itself. As a conclusion, the paper explains that reporting depends on many different factors, such as time, strategy, audience, industry, etc.
Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) are electrochemical devices that use metabolic activities of microorganisms to oxidize organic and inorganic matter and generate electricity. MFC technology is a multidisciplinary approach to the quest for alternate sources of energy. In recent years, MFC technology expressed itself as potential technology for simultaneous electricity generation and waste treatment. It is the purpose of this book to outline, in a concise but comprehensible manner, the fundamentals and development of MFCs and their application as wastewater treatment device. This Book comprises six parts: Chapter 1 contains Introduction and aim of present work. Chapter 2 deals with the critical analysis of MFC research in past and future possibilities. Chapter 3 discloses major methodology used, while Chapter 4 shows the detailed results. Chapter 5 contains conclusion and Chapter 6 is conclusion of present research. As this book is based on results of MFC research, in writing it, the author has drawn about all aspects of MFCs to understand MFCs from every point of view. This book will be beneficial for students, researchers and teachers working on wastewater treatment and bioelectricity.

Thanks ALL for giving me opportunity to share my view about my research. This book covers the areas of fundamentals of Marketing and its applications in Automobile industries. Technological change is today central to the theory of economic growth. It is recognized as an important driver of productivity growth and the emergence of new products from which consumers derive welfare. Automobile industry in India has huge potentials thanks to the growth of the middle class along with their overall economic growth. This is the reason of attraction for international brands who are trying hard to find new market for their products due to stagnated growth of auto sector in Europe, US, and Japan. This book is suitable as a reference for Management students, educators, researchers, engineers, Automobile Industries , Automobile dealers & sales person. Many liberals consider CCTV surveillance in public places - particularly when it is as extensive as it is in England - to be an infringement of important privacy-based rights. An influential report by the House of Lords in 2009 also took this view. However there has been little public, or academic, discussion of the underlying principles and ethical issues. What rights of privacy or anonymity do people have when abroad in public space? What is the rationale for these rights? In what respect does CCTV surveillance compromise them? To what extent does the state's interest in crime prevention warrant encroachment upon such privacy and anonymity rights? This book offers the first extended, systematic treatment of these issues. In it, the author develops a theory concerning the rationale for the entitlement to privacy and anonymity in public space, based on notions of liberty and dignity. She examines how CCTV surveillance may compromise these rights, drawing on everyday conventions of civil inattention among people in the public domain. She also considers whether and to what extent crime-control concerns could justify overriding these entitlements. The author's conclusion is that CCTV surveillance should be appropriate only in certain restrictively-defined situations. The book ends with a proposal for a scheme of CCTV surveillance that reflects this conclusion.

In this book, China’s internationalization of higher education (HE) will be explained from a structural realist perspective. The object of the study is aimed at theory development, applying a case that lies usually outside of the explanatory sphere of a theory in order to advance it. The conclusion of the thesis is that a distinct explanation of the internationalization process is possible within a realist framework, providing us with a new perspective to understanding the internationalization of higher education – even though further studies are necessary. The thesis is structured into five parts, the concepts of power, the theory of neo-realism, the methodological framework, the testing of my hypothesis, and finally, the conclusion. With regards to importance of each chapter, the crucial elements are the conceptual and theoretical considerations. Thus, the paper followed a classical design and provided a logical build up.
