To monitor process variability of products in manufacturing environments has been a challenging issue in all the times. Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts are useful to detect process variability due to specific assignable causes. The Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is also a recommended alternative to the aforementioned charting technique for detecting process parameters. This study gives attention to the use of ANN for monitoring process dispersion parameter and robust charting for location parameter using different runs rules schemes and considering the bootstrapping scenario as well.
The Java Modeling Language (JML) is a very rich specification language for Java. The richness of JML leads to many different interpretations of the same specification constructs in different applications. This work presents a formalization of JML in the theorem prover Coq to provide an exact, unambiguous meaning for JML constructs. The formalization not only gives a mathematically precise definition of the language, but also enables formal meta-reasoning about the language itself, its applications, and proposed extensions. In JML, frame conditions are expressed by the assignable clause. This work highlights the first algorithm that checks assignable clauses at runtime in the presence of dynamic data groups as a means of data abstraction. The algorithm performs very well on realistic and large data structures by lazily computing the locations denoted by the data groups. As an important contribution to runtime assertion checking, the equivalence of the algorithm to the JML semantics has been formally proved in Coq. This shows not only correctness and completeness of the algorithm to check assignable clauses, but also the usefulness and expressiveness of the JML formalization.
Elimination of Avoidable blindness is an important strategy of Vision 2020.Estimation of magnitude and assessment of management of various causes of avoidable blindness is essential.A cross sectional study was conducted in a medical college hospital in rural area.83.6% people were suffering from avoidable causes of blindness..Ca tract was the most common cause followed by refractive error. Studies to estimate the baseline data regarding avoidable blindness should be conducted on wide scale to make vision 2020 successful.
Child abuse is a worldwide issue. The book reflects the causes of child abuse in secondary school students. This is a qualitative study. Interviews of parents and teachers has been conducted regarding the causes of child abuse in secondary school students in Pakistan.Poverty and illiteracy of the parents were the major causes of child abuse. The book is significant for the psychologists, researchers and academicians.
This study addresses the prevalence, causes and effects of in-law conflicts among Seventh-day Adventists in five selected districts in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. This research was necessitated by seemingly many incidents of domestic conflicts involving in-laws. Consequently, Chapter One identifies the problem and methods used in identifying the prevalence, causes and effects of this phenomenon. Chapter Two highlights Biblical and Prophetic perspectives on in-law relationships. Chapter Three reviews related literature. Chapter Four describes the methods used to establish the prevalence, causes and effects of these conflicts. Chapter Five reveals findings emanating from study. Chapter Six summarizes the findings, draws some conclusions and gives some recommendations. The respondents gave long lists of causes, actual challenges and effects of in-law conflicts; ranging from minor to dissolution of marriages.
The causes of war - why people fight - is one of the big questions of human existence. Azar Gat's book, ranging from the beginning of prehistory to the 21st century, offers a definitive answer to the lingering mystery.
Obstretics emergencies constitute major causes of perinatal and maternal deaths especially in the developing countries. One of these emergencies is Ante-partum haemorrhage.Ante-partum haemorrhage is made of three main components viz Abruptio placentae, Placenta praevia and Incidental causes. The book is about the definition of the various components of ante-partium haemorrhage, the epidemiology associated with them, the aetiological causes and predisposing factors, clinical presentations and management of the various complications associated with the three major components. The book is well researched and detailed.
Written in a lucid and easy to read style in a sequential manner for easy understanding, this research work is intended for gaining insight into the causes of increasing prevalence of malnutrition among urban adolescents, its causes and possible solutions to halt the basic causes leading to emerging epidemic of Non Communicable Diseases right from the age of its inception. This work also aims to serve as a useful guide for students, teachers, administrators and policy makers working in this field of public health.
Challenging behavior in students is a world wide problem.Challenging behavior is a vexed issue in rural areas of Pakistan. There are so many causes behind challenging behavior in students.Poverty and illiteracy of parents are one of the fundamental causes of challenging behavior in the world. The book focuses on the nature and causes of challenging behavior in secondary school students in Pakistan. The book reflects the management strategies to overcome the challenging behavior. The work will be significant for the academicians, researchers, psychologists and parents.
This book investigates adverse effects of sociopolitical instability caused by socio-political and economic causes on economic growth and inflation in Sri Lankan. Sri Lanka has gone astray around 4.5 percent of economic growth annually due to the conflicts and war between and within the communities during 1960-2005. It is equal to achieved growth rate annually. Socio political causes have been dominant determinants of economic growth and inflation in Sri Lanka.
This study was conducted to explore the causes of primary school dropout in Pakistani context. Dropouts, their parents and teachers were surveyed for the purpose. School and individual factors emerged as the major causes of students' dropout from primary schools. Student’s socioeconomic status, grade retention, difficulties in learning, lack of interest in studies, unfriendly school, lack of basic facilities in school, teacher’s hostile attitude with students were the causes identified by the dropouts. School, student and family based causes forced the parents to make decision of withdrawal of their brood from school before completion of primary education. Primary school teachers were of the opinion that the leading causes which forced the child to leave school were parental carelessness, poor parental economic condition, grade retention, student’s out of school company, truancy, difficulty in learning, student's preference for child labor over studies, inability to continue learning, psychological problems, illiteracy of parents and student’s poor health. Curriculum seemed out dated, irrelevant and inflexible. The teachers’ professional training and commitment was a question mark.
Information on causes of death is extremely important for policy-making, planning, monitoring and evaluation of health programs as well as for field research, comparisons and epidemic awareness. The Millennium Development Goal for India is to reduce infant mortality rate to 35 per 1000 & under-five mortality to 45 per 1000 live births by 2015.The incorporation of Verbal Autopsy (VA) in the existing Registration Systems is necessary in order to fulfil its ultimate goal of improving the information on causes of infant deaths in areas where Civil Registration and Death Certification are weak. VA provides information for local action by health authorities to reduce the infant mortality rate according to area-specific causes of death. The book is intended to policy makers, program managers working in child health, academicians, researchers and medical graduates to improve the lives of the young ones and identify the social and non medical causes related to infant deaths. This book therefore provides the insight in bringing out the uses of verbal autopsy as a tool in identifying the causes of death which can be either medical/socio-ecnonomic/cultural practices or as combined causes.

There are number of blood tests that reflect the condition of liver. Serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) is one of the important and sensitive indicator of injury to liver cells although raised values can be caused by diseases unrelated to the liver. There is a tendency amongst clinicians to consider a raised serum alanine aminotransferase synonymous with a viral hepatitis, acute or chronic but there are a large number of unusually or frequently overlooked causes of raised serum alanine aminotransferase in addition to viral hepatitis. It is very important to consider these uncommon causes while investigating a patient for raised serum ALT because early detection may not only helpful in diagnosis but management of such cases as well. This study will not only help in earlier diagnosis of unusual causes of raised serum Alanine aminotransferase but also in management of such cases.
